چکیده
ABSTRACT We present baseband radio observations of the millisecond pulsar J1909 ? 3744, most precisely timed pulsar, using MeerKAT telescope as part MeerTime timing array campaign. During a particularly bright scintillation event showed strong evidence pulse mode changing, among first pulsars and shortest duty cycle to do so. Two modes appear be present, with weak (lower signal-to-noise ratio) arriving 9.26 ± 3.94 ?s earlier than counterpart. Further, we new value jitter noise for this 8.20 0.14 ns in one hour, finding it consistent previous measurements taken (9 3 ns) Parkes (8.6 0.8 telescopes, but inconsistent previously precise measurement Green Bank (14 0.5 ns). Timing analysis on individual is carried out find an approximate $10\, \mathrm{per\,cent}$ improvement precision achievable through only opposed full sample pulses. By forming model average from templates two modes, time them simultaneously demonstrate that can also achieved regular observations. discuss impact degree would have searches stochastic gravitational wave background, well similar all PTA pulsars.

Attempts to dynamically constrain the quadrupole mass moment of the millisecond pulsar PSR J1909-3744
In this paper we try to dynamically constrain the quadrupole mass moment Q of the binary millisecond pulsar PSR J1909-3744, which has a white dwarf as companion, from deviations of the third Kepler law. By determining the pulsar’s mass mp from the general relativistic expression of the phenomenologically determined post-Keplerian parameter s, we get Q = (−0.1 ± 1.3) × 10 kg m which is compatibl...
متن کاملPSR J1909−3744, a Binary Millisecond Pulsar with a Very Small Duty Cycle
We report the discovery of PSR J1909−3744, a 2.95 millisecond pulsar in a nearly circular 1.53 day orbit. Its narrow pulse width of 43 μs allows pulse arrival times to be determined with great accuracy. We have spectroscopically identified the companion as a moderately hot (T ≈ 8500K) white dwarf with strong absorption lines. Radial velocity measurements of the companion will yield the mass rat...
متن کاملPulsar Nulling and Mode Changing
With its relatively long observation time per pointing, the Parkes multibeam survey was effective in detecting nulling pulsars. We have made 2-hour observations of 23 pulsars which showed evidence for pulse nulling or mode changing in the survey data. Because of the low flux density of these pulsars, in most cases averaging times of between 10 s and 60 s were necessary and so this analysis is i...
متن کاملLearning Precisely Timed Spikes
To signal the onset of salient sensory features or execute well-timed motor sequences, neuronal circuits must transform streams of incoming spike trains into precisely timed firing. To address the efficiency and fidelity with which neurons can perform such computations, we developed a theory to characterize the capacity of feedforward networks to generate desired spike sequences. We find the ma...
متن کاملPrecisely timed transient synchronization by depressing synapses
We study the dynamical e!ects of depressing synapses on stimulus-induced synchronization in a simple network of inhibitory and excitatory neurons, assuming that the recurrent excitation is mediated by depressing synapses. It is demonstrated that depressing synapses greatly contribute to suppressing the in#uences of noise in a!erent stimuli on the stimulus-speci"c temporal patterns of synchronou...
